Easy to use and much better than Excel spreadsheets!
I have about 200 VLANs to maintain and SolarWinds IPAM is my sole tool to manage my network. It's got great search functions, auto-discovery, and sends notifications when a server reboots or doesn't start.
- Helps with statically assigning IP addresses in my server farm.
- Manages my DHCP and DNS servers.
- Great reporting functions.
- Not fond of the licensing features.
- Slow to scan subnet.
- Helpful when expanding my network.
Ease of use and a clean dashboard. I've been a SolarWinds customer for a long time and have always been happy with their products.

Pretty easy to use and support. I have a small team. I use Veeam to back up my virtual environment. I've never experienced any issues with the product itself, just a small learning curve.

So long IP address spreadsheets!
SolarWinds IP Address Manager (IPAM) is used throughout our company as the sole IP address management solution across all our departments. Many of our non-IT staff use it without any issues. Long gone are the days of having massive spreadsheets manually updated on shared network drives to manage IP subnet allocations.
- Fluid subnet scanning and alerting.
- Centralized DHCP and static IP address tracking.
- Great integration with other SolarWinds Orion products.
- The initial learning curve to administer it.
- The interface can be clunky at times.
- Without integration with other SolarWinds Orion products, you won't get the most out of IPAM.
- Improved efficiency by reducing the amount of time needed for documentation.
- Automates common DHCP tasks, freeing up precious resources.
- Allows for faster TTR by streamlining common IP address troubleshooting tasks.
